The Clubhouse is situated atop a knoll overlooking the lake-framed 10th and 18th greens. It incorporates elements of plantation early island architecture. Soft, earth-toned colors and low profile roofs establishes a common language for the entire project. Tropical landscaping and use of native materials helps to tie the buildings into the new surrounding.
Japan Land in NYC
415 8th Avenue, New York NY
Japan Land is a proposal for a 12 story building located across the street from Penn Station at 31st Street and Eighth Avenue in New York. Currently, at the corner of 8th Avenue and 31st Street, diagonal from Penn Station, you’ll find a parking lot, pizza joint, and a small coffee shop. However, we envision something much more spectacular for this underused locale. An exciting scheme for a lantern-like glass tower of about 12 stories called “Japan Land.”
The program is focused on introducing Japanese culture into the site and includes several restaurants, an auditorium, an exhibit hall, a TV Studio, a Japanese garden and tea-house and Japanese style hotel rooms. A grand, double helix stair wraps itself through the six floors of public spaces, tying together the diverse program. The exterior of the building is clad with a screen that shows projections of graphics, advertisements and videos, attracting attention from pedestrians passing by.
