Maurice Yamasato
Maurice Yamasato received Bachelor in Architecture from University of
Hawaii, Honolulu 1966 and attended California State
Polytechnic College, San Luis Obispo, California after attending Kapaa High
School, Kauai, 1960

Maurice Yamasato has over 40 years of progressive and responsible
Architectural experience. In the early years, the firm specialized in custom
Residential projects and later expanded its portfolio to include planning,
commercial, retail, chain restaurants, government and a larger and more
diverse scope, including civic centers, warehouses, and military facilities.
He has provided responsible leadership in the planning and design efforts of
numerous Bishop Estate renovations, industrial and commercial projects.
Some of his projects include the Coral Creek Golf Course Clubhouse,
Princeville Public Library, Hawaii Okinawa Center, Westloch Elderly
Housing, and Kapolei Golf Course Clubhouse. The Hawaii Okinawa Center
remains one of Maurice Yamasato’s most visible. “I feel like it belongs to the
community and everybody had input in it and this is the result of it,” he said.
He also serve as a Director of Central Pacific Bank And Central Pacific
Financial Corp from 2004 to 2011.
He is a current member of American Institute of Architects and registered to
practice architecture in State of Hawaii and Director of AIA Hawaii 2017

The Hawaii Okinawa Center remains one of Maurice Yamasato’s most visible

Nobutaka Ashihara
Nobutaka Ashihara received a Master of Architecture degree from Harvard University Graduate School of Design, preceded by a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Hosei University Technical College. He also attended Keio University majoring in English Literature.

Since 1978, Mr. Ashihara has providing consulting services to clients in the areas of planning, development feasibility, architecture, and interior design.
Prior to forming his own firm, he has served as Vice President/Director of Kajima International; in Los Angeles and New York. He also served as a designer on the staff of Kevin Roche/John Dinkeloo Associates, Hamden, Connecticut.
Mr. Ashihara has also taken an active part of design education by serving as a guest lecturer, panel critic, and faculty member at several schools here and abroad, including: Harvard University Graduate School of Design, New York Institute of Technology, University of Tokyo, Hosei University, Nova Scotia Technical College and The Japan Society, N.Y.C.
He is a current member of the American Institute of Architects and registered with the National Council Architectural Review Board to practice in many states including New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Minnesota, and California.
